Our resort is on Blackduck lake which is rated as one of the top walleye lakes in the whole state for its size. If you look at the surveys done by the DNR you will see how many walleye are in each net compared to other lakes. We had a 13 fish count in 2006 which is really good since a lot of lakes this size only have 3 or 4. In the larger lakes like Leech and Cass you will find the count around ours but the lake is 10 times the size.

Fishing in Minnesota

Well the wind is blowing on the lakes in Northern Minnesota this week. Here on Blackduck there are white caps but one thing about this lake you still can get out since there is a big island in the middle. You have to get to the side where the wind is not to wicked.
There are also smaller lakes within 1/2 hour of White Birch Resort you can jump to if it is to windy even on Blackduck which are a lot smaller and protected by the wind by trees. At these lakes you will be able to catch some smaller panfish but it is something to do for a day.

White Birch Resort is located 25 miles north of Bemidji Minnesota. Our resort is on the north side of Blackduck Lake sitting up on a bluff overlooking the lake. There are over 400 lakes in the 50 mile radius of our resort if you are interested in checking out other lakes to fish.
Bemidji is the place to take the women shopping if they are looking for some variety of stores. We do have a couple stores here in Blackduck but not like Bemidji. There is all of the necessary stores in Blackduck to keep all of the family supplies filled from groceries, tackle and hardware.
