Early Ice Fishing in MN

Any bets on early ice this year?? Usually i am ice fishing by Thanksgiving but there has not been a really hard freeze as of yet. The grass is still growing and it does not look like really cold weather in the future. The early ice fishing is some of the best since the fish are coming into the shallow water and going after anything that moves. If you can plan a last minute vacation i would suggest to keep a eye on the ice an try an get the first fish out of the lake.

The snow is coming- the snow is coming and it looks like it will be here thursday. I just hope it does not stick around for another month but who knows. The deer hunting is fast approching in northern MN for the 2010 season. There has been some changes in the zones and amount of deer you can take this year. I would suggest to check on your area you are hunting to see if there is a lottery for deer. The season does really look good for this year with the amount of rain and green grass still around. First frost came to northern Minnesota last night. The leaves are pretty much done for the year with a few trees still holding a few but not many.
